• Kelso’s Choice is a tool for teaching conflict management skills for children Pre-K through 5th grade. At Serene Lake, all students are taught about the difference between small problems that can be solved by the students themselves and big problems that need to be reported to a caring adult to help solve. Student's are taught Kelso the frog's 9 strategies to solve small problems including, "walk away" and "talk it out". The strategies are displayed on a wheel (shown below) and which students can use a reminder of their problem solving choices.
