The State Board of Education and the Mukilteo School District have adopted new rules for students to graduate from high school. Students must meet four requirements in order to receive a high school diploma. They must:
- Earn 22.5 high school credits if graduating in 2020, or 24 credits for 2021 and beyond
- Complete a High School and Beyond Plan that covers all four years of high school and one year following graduation
- Complete a Culminating Project that reflects the student's story as he or she attended elementary, middle school and high school
- Meet standard on required state assessments
