I love teaching and I really miss my students. Online learning has been a difficult challenge for students and families during these uncertain times. I will work tirelessly to support you and help you achieve your personal goals, as well as offer resources and guidance as you navigate this new normal.
I'm starting my 30th year teaching, but my 1st year at Aces. I'm so happy and proud to be a part of the Aces team of staff, who are compassionate, exceptional educators.
Originally from Brooklyn, NY, my family moved to the northwest when I was young. Traveling from coast to coast was something I did each year, which opened my eyes to the real world.
In my 29 years of teaching at Mariner High School, I taugnt all ELA courses, and worked as the ELL Coordinator and Newspaper Adviser for 15 years. Following that, I spent 14 years as the Theatre Arts Director, producing over 50 plays and musicals for the community. Working with thousands of students over the years, I have remained constant in my belief that my role is to lift the voices of young people and give them a platform to express their creativity and talents, whether that be through writing, performance, music, or art.
I look forward to the days when we can be together again. Although it is challenging, some of the most important life skills are being taught right now. Like never before, students are learning to advocate for themselves, navigate complex technology, and facilitate their own time management. I am contintually amazed with the resilience of our youth.
