Board of Education

  • What is a student director?

Student directors serve on the Mukilteo School Board in an advisory, non-voting capacity. As such, they are not able to make motions, vote, hold board offices or attend executive sessions. They are, however, encouraged to introduce new topics as well as comment on any issues and add perspective to conversations. In addition, they inform students at their school about the issues the Board is considering and the factors that may have an impact on the Board's decisions.

There are three student directors each year, one from each of the high schools: Kamiak, Mariner and ACES. Interested students who would like to serve in their junior or senior year are encouraged to apply. Students are selected and appointed by the Board after an interview process.
