Teaching and Learning Center

  • A new Teaching and Learning Center was one of the first projects completed with the funds that voters approved in February 2014. Located on the campus of Explorer Middle School, the facility houses the offices of the special education and the curriculum and professional development departments, as well as the Science Distribution Center and the school district’s Community-Based Transition Center.

The project was first because it provides space for employees who had been located in the old Lake Stickney Elementary, a building that had to be demolished before construction could begin on the new elementary at that site. The new facility is an expansion of an existing structure that was known as House 1 and was completed in the summer of 2015.
