“Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed up in overalls and looks like work.”

-Thomas Edison

“Let us put our minds together and see what life we can make for our children.”

-Lakota leader and warrior, Chief Sitting Bull

I love these quotes because they remind about the most important aspects of teaching; working hard and working together for all of our kids today and in the future.

My name is Thomas Miranda and I’m a proud member of the Fond du Lac Band of the Lake Superior Chippewa Tribe/Ojibwe.

I was born and raised in Seattle and I’ve been teaching Social Studies and English at schools in Seattle, Everett, Marysville, and Tulalip for over 24 years.

This will be my third year at ACES, but my 15th year in the Mukilteo School District.

I’m very happy to be at ACES and I look forward to working with the students, staff and the entire ACES community.

When I’m not at ACES, you can usually find me reading a book, spending time with my wife and daughter at the theater or enjoying the beautiful Northwest scenery. I love living in this part of the world surrounded by the mountains, water and trees.
