Miss Cheryl Boze

Principal

I have had the honor of serving as principal at Pathfinder since the school opened in 2017.  Prior to opening our all-kindergarten school, I was an elementary principal at Odyssey and Lake Stickney, and a high school principal before that.  I began my career as a special education teacher and enjoyed several years as a high school activity coordinator as well.  I have a passion for meeting the unique needs of all children and for making school a joyful place for learning.

When I’m not at work I love spending time with family, teaching Sunday school and camping.  I also enjoy off-road motorcycle riding, biking, and other active sports.  I have travelled to many countries and am now on a mission to visit all fifty states and each of our national parks.

Safety, kindness, responsibility and respect are our priorities.  Visitors and substitute teachers who work in many buildings tell us we have a unique school community – warm, friendly, and welcoming to all.  If you experience anything less, please tell us!

Dean of Students

As a child, I grew up in the Mukilteo School District.  I knew I wanted to be part of the same community as an educator.  I taught fifth grade for 16 years in the district. During that time, I worked at Horizon and Odyssey Elementary.  While watching my son learn through imaginative play in preschool, I decided to make a change so I could work with younger students.  In 2017, I became the Dean of Students at Pathfinder Kindergarten Center, which was the same year my son started kindergarten.  We frequently told our friends that we started kindergarten together!  One of my goals is to help our students develop a love for learning.  I want students to understand the endless possibilities that come with attending school every day!
