With the Snow Day, we have some schedule changes.
The biggest change is that we moved Pie and Cider Night and the Evening Book Shopping times to Monday, December 5. We weren't sure if the weather (and the district) would allow for us to have any after-school events on Thursday. Instead of taking a chance, we opted to move both events so that everyone can plan ahead. The Book Fair will be open on Monday evening for shopping from 6:00 -- 7:30 PM. Pie and Cider Night will happen in the gym from 6:30 -- 7:30 PM.
If your student's Library Day is Wednesday, I've rescheduled those classes to visit the library on Friday.
Below is the revised Book Fair schedule:
Thursday, December 1:
Students whose Library Day is Thursday are shopping during their Library class time.
3:25 – 4:00 After School Shopping (this may be cancelled if the district cancels after school activities)
Friday, December 2:
8:40 – 8:55 Before School Shopping
Students whose Library Day was Wednesday are shopping during a rescheduled Library class time.
2:10 – 3:00 *NO* After School Shopping
Monday, December 5:
8:40 – 8:55 Before School Shopping
3:25 – 4:00 After School Shopping
6:00 – 7:30 Book Fair
6:30 – 7:30 Pie & Cider Night
The Book Fair will be packed up and closed down Monday night in preparation for pick-up. No purchases will be available after Monday evening's event.

Thank you so much to Elizabeth Glass, our PTA Book Fair chairperson and to the super-flexible volunteers who've helped us this week. We are so grateful for the support the PTA and the Book Fair give to the Endeavour Library in providing the excellent contest books that our entire school enjoys throughout the year.
Feel free to email me with any questions!
It's time for Book Fair! This year, we're excited to welcome you from November 28 to December 1! Check out our Book Fair website for more information! https://www.scholastic.com/bf/endeavourpta
Students were given all of the details during their library classes before Thanksgiving. They heard about the shopping hours, adding sales tax (10.6%), creating an eWallet (then your child doesn't have to carry cash to school), return policy (no returns or exchanges), online fair, and more. They were also given an extra book to check out since we can't do any book circulation until December 5th.
Your support of the Book Fair provides funding for the contests we enjoy in the library: the Mukilteo Lighthouse Children's Choice Chapter Book Contest, the OTTER (Our Time Together Enjoying Reading) Contest and the Washington Children's Choice Picture Book Contest.

Lost/Overdue Books Policy
Each week, when your child comes to the library with his/her class, s/he is told what books are currently checked out.
If a book is forgotten/overdue, students may still select new books, but they are placed on the Babysitting Cart at the end of the class’ library visit. The student then has until the end of the following school day to switch out the forgotten/overdue books for the new ones. The books left behind at the end of that day are re-shelved. A “Reminder Paper” is printed out and given to your child (or to his/her teacher for distribution later), which includes the book’s title, circulation barcode, and due date.
If your child is unable to find a lost book, s/he may pay for the book or replace it with a brand new copy of the same title (and in the same type of binding). If the book is going to be replaced, please email Mrs. Smeby first. If your child chooses to pay for the lost book, cash (in exact change, please) or a check made payable to Endeavour Elementary are accepted. If s/he pays for the book and finds it again, s/he may qualify for a refund.
It is a priority for our students to be responsible for their books. Please help your child find a safe place to store library books and help him/her to remember to bring the books back on-time. One of the goals of check-out is teaching the students that the books they check out are *their* responsibility.
Thank you! Please email me if you have any questions!
Volunteering in the Endeavour Library
Are you interested in helping in the Endeavour Library? If so, please contact Mrs. Smeby: firstname.lastname@example.org
It is Mukilteo School District policy that volunteers must be on the approved volunteer list in the office BEFORE they can work in the library. Please see the front office staff to get the Washington State Patrol paperwork and after showing her your ID in person, please allow two weeks for processing. Volunteers must also show proof of vaccination. Thank you!
All volunteers must be trained by Mrs. Smeby before they can work in the library. It's not difficult; there are just some procedures to discuss.
We hope you join us! The library is a *fantastic* place to be!
