Social Emotional Learning Program

  • Self-care and self-awareness are important skills for students to develop. One of the best ways they learn these skills is through modeling by the adults around them. In response to this need, the district has partnered with an organization called Anchored SEL and the Employee Assistance Program to support adult self-care for families and staff. The family program offers learning opportunities for families regarding personal self-care and ways to support their children to do the same.

The family program includes five online classes provided in English, Russian, and Spanish. In addition to the course content, each class includes an electronic workbook and optional live community coaching conversations, offered twice a month through May 2021. Participants are welcome to complete the course at their own pace and each live discussion will be a mix of activities related to the content as well as space to build community and provide mutual support. Interpreters are available for the live conversations. Please note, completion of the courses is not required to attend the live sessions. This content is available through May 2021 for families to engage in as much or as often as they like.
