Degrees and Certifications:
A graduate of Southern Oregon University’s Master of Science in Special Education program and their School Administration program, as well as a Point Loma Nazarene University’s Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art, I began teaching art in 2004 at the high school level following a few years of working as a gallery preparator in the San Diego area. I have since worked at all levels within public education from Early Childhood (ages 3 to 5) to transition services (age 21). Beyond teaching art, I have also worked as a School Administrator and as a Special Education Teacher, specializing in supporting students with behavior challenges. Throughout all of my experiences, visual communication (the Arts) have always provided critical skills for realizing success in all fields. I am thrilled to share with your student the guidance to develop creative approaches to face challenges, a skill which will undoubtedly serve them well in an uncertain and quickly changing 21st Century economy.
