Specialists

  • The Specialists at Pathfinder teach Art, Music, Physical Education, and Technology. Each pod has their own Specialist teacher who teaches each class in the pod or in the gym for 45 minutes every day. Specialists work closely with classroom teachers to support the whole child and integrate learning in all subjects.

Mrs. Kimberley Bovee

My name is Kim Bovee.  I am the specialist in the Grasshopper pod.  I teach P.E., music, art and technology to our Kindergarten students.  Prior to coming to Pathfinder in 2017, I taught Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade for 22 years in the Mukilteo School District. My position here at Pathfinder is very special as I have priviledge to work with the same 6 classes in my pod every day.  This gives me the opportunity to get to know each child quite well and help them with many aspects of their education.

Outside of teaching I enjoy being outdoors gardening, camping and hiking.  I also enjoy traveling with my husband both in Washington and abroad.  I have two grown children; a daughter who is an Emergency Room nurse and a son who works in the restaurant business. Our family also includes a quirky chihuahua named Chewy and a spunky cat named Lucy.

Mrs. Crosby

Hi! I'm Susie Crosby, and I am the Ladybug specialist at Pathfinder. I taught Physical Education in Shoreline for 28 years before coming to teach in Mukilteo. I feel like I have come "home" because my husband and I live in Mukilteo, and both of our sons graduated from Kamiak High School. I grew up in the Puget Sound area and enjoy hiking, kayaking, watching football, and walking on the beach. I have recently become a blogger and  author, and I hope to write a children's book someday.

Kindergarten is a unique and special time of growth, and I'm very grateful and excited to be able to be a part of this year in your child's life!

I am Jenn Holloway and I teach Art, Music, P.E., and Technology to the Caterpillar Pod. I believe in the education of the whole child emotionally and intellectually. In order for children to reach their full potential they need to be exposed to a joy for learning, a fulfillment of their curiosity, and a warm structured atmosphere where they feel loved and safe.

I taught pre-K for 18 years and this is my third year teaching in the Mukilteo School District and Pathfinder Kindergarten Center. I feel so fortunate to be working at Pathfinder with the Caterpillar students. I love this age because the students experience so much growth. It is an amazing place to be a kid!

I moved here with my husband in 1999 and love living in the Pacific Northwest. In my spare time I enjoy walking with my dog Cali, gardening, hiking, and reading. I am excited to meet and spend time with your children.

Miss Sarah Johnson

Hi! My name is Sarah Johnson and I am the specialist in the Bumblebee Pod. I teach art, music, PE, and technology. I taught 1st grade in Arizona for three years before moving back to my home state. I taught 1st grade and ELL for 10 years at Horizon and Olivia Park before transferring to Pathfinder when it opened in 2017. I am so fortunate to have a job that I love coming to every day! I have so much fun getting to know and work with all of your children during the course of the school year!

When not at work, I enjoy traveling with my family and boyfriend. I have an ever expanding list of places to visit both locally and worldwide that I work on checking off every chance I get! I also like to spend my free time going to concerts and the theater, camping and exploring, and reading, and hope to someday write a childrens book.

Thank you for letting me be a part of your child's education. It is such a joy to watch them grow as learners!
