Health and Wellness

  • Our goal is to build a community conversation around all that being healthy encompasses and to keep finding effective ways to teach and model for every student that healthy brains, healthy thinking, healthy coping skills and healthy bodies are all an important part of wellness. There has never been a more important time to reduce the stigma attached to mental health issues. Negotiating the stressors of growing up is never easy, and we know that dealing with life’s stressors right now are particularly difficult for students and families. It is our goal to increase ease and access to valuable information and mental health education. We also want to emphasize that getting help is not something to be ashamed of AND that asking for help is an important part of taking care of ourselves and the people we care about.

The resources on this page are intended to increase conversations about mental health among students, their families, and the community. Additionally, these resources are meant to create self-advocacy and wellness around mental and social-emotional needs.

    Anchored SEL for Families

This course is designed to grow adult SEL (social and emotional Learning) to increase resilience, sustainability and effectiveness. As adults, we need to constantly grow our own skill set to meet the increasingly complex needs of our children/teens because we know that children/teens learn from observation, repetition, and imitation. Anchored SEL consists of five asynchronous learning modules so you can learn at your own pace. Additionally, by enrolling in this course, you have the option to participate in community conversations about important social emotional learning topics that support the learning modules. This resource is FREE to Mukilteo families until August 30, 2021, if you use coupon code MukilteoFamilies. To join, go to the Anchored SEL website.
