Hello Mariner Community! As we welcome in June, we begin to think about wrapping up the school year and the start of summer. Similar to many procedures over the last few months, the end of the school year will look different this year. We are in the process of creating a master plan for student’s to drop off and pick up items from Mariner on June 15-19. Students in grades 9-11 will keep their school computers through the summer, but we will be collecting computers from seniors and those students planning to withdraw. More information will be communicated to you in the next 1-2 weeks about dates and times that students will come to Mariner to drop off and pick up items. Please continue to encourage your students to engage with their current classes and finish the year strong. The last student day is June 19. I hope you will consider registering your student for summer school. Summer school will be distance learning only this year, and it is free for all students. Summer school credits can be used for both new learning and recovery credit. There is a link to sign up in the Counseling News later in the newsletter.
There have been several questions about what school will look like when we reopen in the fall. A lot of this depends on state guidance, but we are sure school will have a different approach. Here is some information from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction on some possibilities in the fall Reopening Washington Schools. We will continue to communicate frequently throughout the summer, and we’re looking forward to the day where we will see students face to face once again! Take care and Go Marauders!
