STUDENTS CAN EARN CREDIT FOR LANGUAGES THEY ALREADY KNOW.


Registration begins (April, 20016) for a pilot intiative where high school students can earn world language credits for a language they already know. Students who have the ability to read, write, speak, and understand a language other than English can earn the credit by taking a World Language Proficiency Exam this summer. Students my earn up to four high school world language credits based on how they perform on the exam. The exams are available in more than 70 different languages and will be administered on July 14, 2016. The cost of the tests range from $25 to $140 depending on the language, but as part of the pilot initiative, the school district has budgeted $10,000 to cover those costs. Registration for the tests will close when the dollar amount has been spent. For more information, go to:
