Communication with parents and families is important to us at Mariner. We will continue our monthly MHS newsletters to provide relevant information to our families. I want to encourage you to closely monitor your child’s academic progress this year. If you haven’t done so already, please join the “Family Access Portal” in Qmlativ (student information system). Our teachers are required to update their grades twice a month. If you have any questions about the grades that your student cannot answer, please make sure to contact the teacher directly. It’s important that we work as a team to ensure academic success for your child. Throughout the year, if you have any questions about after school homework clubs or tutoring, please contact your student’s counselor or administrator. We have a multitude of opportunities for students to get help after school. In addition, we have an afternoon activities bus at 4:00pm. This bus will take students to the elementary school closest to their home.

We use a notification system called Blackboard Connect to send important messages to families via telephone, text, and email about a student’s attendance, meal balances, library fines and important information like when school is canceled or delayed. This automated system uses the contact information that is listed in student records. Please make sure your student’s records are accurate with current contact information for your child. You can select your preferences for how you receive those notifications by going to the Blackboard Connect Portal at https://mukilteoschooldistrict.bbcportal.com/, or by clicking the stay connected link at the bottom of each school and district webpage.

Lastly, please follow us on Twitter (@MHSEverett), Instagram (marinermarauders), and soon to be launched Facebook, to learn about events and activities at Mariner.

We’re looking forward to partnering with you in the upcoming school year!

Sincerely,

Nate DuChesne, Principal
