Registration for 2019-20 kindergarten classes begins Monday, March 4.
Do you have a child who will attend kindergarten in the Mukilteo School District next fall? It’s time to get him or her registered! Registration for kindergarten classes in the 2019-20 school year will get underway on Monday, March 4.
Parents wanting to register their child for kindergarten can do so at their neighborhood school. The school offices will be open for registration from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each school day through the remainder of the school year and again beginning in mid-August.
To be eligible for next year’s kindergarten program a child must be at least 5 years old by August 31, 2019.
The Mukilteo School District will again offer full-day classes for all kindergarten students. Some of those kindergarten classes will be offered in neighborhood schools while the students at some schools will attend Pathfinder Kindergarten Center. The decision about which students will attend Pathfinder will be announced before registration begins. Check the school district’s website at www.mukilteoschools.org.
When arriving at the school to register their child for kindergarten, parents should bring verification of their child’s birth date, verification of address (such as a utility bill or lease agreement), the names and telephone numbers of emergency contacts, and an up-to-date record of immunizations.
The vaccines required for school attendance are established by the State of Washington. For an incoming kindergarten student, they must include four doses of DPT (the last after age 4), three doses of polio (the last after age 4), two doses of MMR (the first one after age 1), a series of three Hepatitis B immunizations, and two doses of Varicella (Chicken Pox) after age 1.
