How to get information about school closures or delays

In the event of inclement weather, a power outage, or some other emergency making it necessary to close or delay schools, you can find that information in a number of ways:

CHECK YOUR PHONE

Information will be sent to families using the mass communication system via email, phone and text (if entered into the Blackboard Connect Portal).

CHECK THE WEBSITE

You also can check the status by going to this school district website. Information about school closures or delays is also made available to the local media through a service called FlashAlert. You can go directly to the Flash Alert website.

CHECK THE LOCAL MEDIA

Many local radio stations provide regular reports on school closures, including KRKO (1380 AM), KIRO (97.3 FM), or KOMO (1000 AM). As for television stations, watch the morning news on KOMO (Channel 4), KING (Channel 5), KIRO (Channel 7) or KCPQ (Channel 13).
