March 19, 2021 Middle and high school family message

Dear middle and high school families,

In preparation for expanding in-person learning for middle and high school students, it’s important we gather your plans for returning and needs for bus transportation. Please read the following carefully before completing the questionnaire linked at the end of this email.

In-person learning for middle and high school students will begin April 19. We will follow health and safety protocols such as physical distancing and health screenings or attestations. All students will be required to wear face masks if they participate in-person learning. Your response to this questionnaire should reflect your plan for the rest of the school year.

When we return to school on April 19, middle and high school teachers will teach all their students (distance and in-person students) during the same period four days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday). Our goal is to keep middle and high school schedules as simple and consistent as possible. In-person students will attend school two days per week. More schedule details will be sent later, but students will keep the same classes they have now. Wednesdays will remain as they are now in distance learning with time for individual student support.

Bus transportation is available for students who would normally qualify for district transportation.

Please take a minute to answer these few quick questions (additional languages linked below) about your plans for your child’s learning as soon as possible. Online forms in additional languages will be sent to families tomorrow.) We must hear from everyone, so your child’s school will follow up with you if we have not received a response by Monday. We’ll confirm your child’s schedule once we have analyzed the results and are ready for the next steps in resuming in-person learning. Thank you for your patience as we do this work.
