Sept. 15, 2021 Family message
Dear Mukilteo School District families,
The pandemic continues to have ripple effects, including food delivery and supply chain shortages. Our school district, like others across the nation, are experiencing challenges in receiving food and supplies in a timely fashion and that is affecting the number of options and entrees available at each school. Students will always have something to eat, but it may not be their first choice. Menus are posted on the Nutrition Services webpage, but please remember that menu items are subject to change, sometimes with little notice. We have had to alter menus more frequently due to these supply chain issues. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
We are also short on bus drivers, which has caused occasional delays in picking up or dropping off students. Another shortage felt across the nation, we are continually hiring and training new bus drivers. If you or someone you know is interested in applying for a bus driving job, please apply through the district Employment Opportunities webpage. We are also hiring for other positions like substitute teachers, paraeducators, coaches and nutrition services workers, so please help us spread the word!
New state mask mandate
Masks are now required for outdoor events with 500 or more people, regardless of vaccination status (see page 3). Please remember this when attending school district sporting events, as masks are required for all attendees.
Please be kind to our employees as they enforce this state-level mandate to keep our students and community safe and healthy.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Mukilteo School District
