May 4, 2022 Family message

Dear Mukilteo School District families,

You may have seen in recent news that COVID cases are increasing again, though not nearly as high as we experienced in January of this year. For our school district, positive COVID cases doubled during Spring Break and doubled again to about 81 cases last week.

While guidance has not changed, the health department is emphasizing mask wearing. Snohomish Health District is encouraging people in our county to return to heightened levels of caution around COVID. This includes urging people to voluntarily wear masks in most indoor public spaces or crowded outdoor settings. Schools continue to support mask wearing, especially after being in social settings, traveling, or possibly exposed to people with COVID.

As always, please keep your child home if they have any symptoms. Families can use this flow chart to help decide if children should go to school or stay home.

If you or your child develop symptoms, or think you’ve been exposed to COVID-19, please use our free testing site located at COVID testing location at 12310 Meridian Ave. S., Everett, 98208 (near Mariner High School). Appointments are welcome, but not required. It is open to all students, staff and the community.

Rapid antigen and PCR tests are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, the site will be closed for testing on Thursdays after 2 p.m. through May 19 due to track meets.

PCR test results are delivered by email in 24 to 36 hours after being received by the lab. Please register to save time before you arrive. Please enter the testing site from Meridian Ave. S.

Thank you for your partnership in keeping students and staff healthy and in school through the last day of school, June 17!

Sincerely,

Mukilteo School District
