Attendance Areas - 3130

Students shall attend the school designated for their respective residential areas. The Board of Directors shall annually review student enrollment projections designated for the District. When student population changes or enrollment shifts within the District, and/or estimated enrollment substantially exceeds class size guidelines, program size or school capacity, school reassignment of students may become necessary.
Reassignment of students shall be proposed in order to operate an effective and efficient educational program during the following year. The District reserves the right to base final decisions on the needs of all schools and programs of the District.
The following factors shall be considered when the district develops attendance area boundaries and considers reassignment of students:
- Minimizing disruption of students' established learning programs.
- Maintaining established neighborhood groupings.
- Keeping siblings in the same elementary school.
- Maintaining relationship with a middle school and/or high school attendance area.
- Adjusting class loads to available space.
- Coordinating transportation routes with attendance areas.
Prior to the implementation of any planned school reassignment of students for the following year, families of students affected by a reassignment shall be notified of the planned change. An orientation to the new school shall be arranged for affected students.
At the beginning or during the school year when enrollments in an attendance area exceed class size guidelines, school or program capacity, students may be reassigned to a school in another attendance area for the duration of the school year.
