Disposal of Surplus Equipment and/or Materials - 7251
The Board has the authority to declare equipment, supplies, furniture reading materials and other District personal property obsolete and/or surplus to the needs of the District. The Superintendent will establish procedures for their sale, trade or disposal except that the Board must approve any sales where a single unit item has a value in excess of $1,000 or where the value of all items to be sold at one sale exceeds $10,000.
When declaring texts and other books, equipment, instructional materials or relocatable facilities as surplus, the District, prior to disposal thereof, will comply with the student preference and notice requirements of RCW 28A.335.180.
