Schools at Capacity
Mukilteo School District Board Policy/Procedures 3141 provide authorization and criteria for acceptance of nonresident students to attend Mukilteo School District schools. The Policy provides, in part, as follows:
Any student who resides outside the District may apply to attend a school in the District. The District calculates capacity for out-of-District transfers at the lesser of:
- The sum of permanent capacity and portable capacity, or
- 700 students for elementary schools, 825 students for middle schools, and 1,900 students for high schools.
- In addition, any school that transfers kindergarten students to Pathfinder Kindergarten Center to provide space for the implementation of full-day kindergarten may be determined to be over capacity for the purpose of out-of-District transfers.
The Superintendent has determined the following schools are at full capacity and will not consider applications from new non-resident students for the 2023–24 school year:

*When a school is closed, specialized programs offered at that school are also closed. This may include Special Education, Highly Capable, etc.
Note: Beginning with the 2023-24 year, Mukilteo Virtual Academy is no longer offered in the District.
