Serene Lake Elementary School was built in 1968 with some renovations in 1994 and 1996. The school is located within the Unincorporated Snohomish County on 10.0 acres. Permanent square footage is 49,230 and there are four (4) portable classrooms. This project will be Phase I of a full school replacement. Phase I will include construction of a new two-story classroom building, approximately 15,600 square feet, containing eight (8) classrooms and support spaces.  Site improvements to support the new facility will include a new water main, fire hydrants, connections to utilities such as sewer and storm water, walkways and landscaping.  Building 200, containing classrooms, will be demolished at the end of the project.  The district anticipates construction starting in Summer 2024 and completion in winter 2025-26.

    • Contractor has fully mobilized on the site. 
    • Civil sub has completed access road up to the construction site on the west side of the property. 
    • Geopiers are complete for foundation stabilization. 
    • Site excavation is currently underway. Forms for concrete footings are being constructed.

    • All county permits have been issued.
    • The contractor will mobilize onsite beginning December 23rd. Site fencing will be installed and clearing/grading will be underway over winter break. 
    • Contractor trailer was placed onsite December 16th
    • The trail from the Wingate neighborhood onto the district property will be closed over winter break. Community will need to take the north trail for the duration of construction.

    • The last of the permits are being issued by the county.
    • Construction will kickoff over Winter Break at the end of December. Expect the contractor to erect fencing around the construction site, and a construction trailer will be placed at the southwest corner of the site. 
    • The trail from the Wingate neighborhood onto the district property will be closed over winter break. Community will need to take the north trail for the duration of construction. 
    • The Serene Lake Phase 1 project received bids on October 3rd and 8th. The School Board is set to approve the sub-contractor contracts on October 22nd
    • Permit documents are being reviewed by local jurisdictions. 
    • The project contractor, Spee West, is coordinating site logistic plans with the school district. 
    • Project went out to bid on September 3rd. Bid opening is scheduled for October 3rd and 8th
    • Snohomish PUD and communication providers completed their work relocating the utility poles along Picnic Point Road. 
    • Construction is scheduled to commence in December. 
    • Utility pole relocation and removal continues along Picnic Point Road.
    • Permit documents under review with county. 
    • Project permit documents are in 2nd round review with Snohomish County. 
    • SnoPUD is working on utility pole relocation and underground utility line boring. This work is being done in preparation for street frontage improvements and the start of construction.
