Early Entrance to Kindergarten

Children need to be 5 years old by August 31st in order to be eligible to attend kindergarten in the fall. For children whose birthday is between September 1st and October 31st, parents can opt to have their child take the Early Entrance test to see if they are eligible to enter kindergarten early.

For children who are eligible for free lunch status, the district provides the testing at no cost to the family. To see if your child is eligible for free lunch, email Judy Heminger at HemingerJL@mukilteo.wednet.edu to get the lunch application.

For children who are not eligible for free lunch status, parents may have their child tested by a licensed psychologist outside of the district.

Testing results must be submitted to the the Elementary Education Department by the 4th Monday of August at 4:00 p.m.  Results can be submitted by email to Judy Heminger at the email above, or you can drop them off at our District Office located at 9401 Sharon Drive in Everett.  Our office is open 8:00 – 4:00.

For questions, or additional information, email the Elementary Education Department at HemingerJL@mukilteo.wednet.edu

Here are the links to the Early Entrance Testing forms.  The lunch form is optional.
