Comprehensive Sexual Health Education
Comprehensive Sexual Health Education
Comprehensive sexual health education is required by Washington State Law (RCW 28A.300.475). In Mukilteo School District, instruction on sexual health is provided annually from grade four through high school. This instruction is provided by the classroom teacher in grades four and five, and by the PE or Health teacher in grades six through high school.
Washington State Law also requires that parents/guardians have the opportunity to preview the instructional materials and opt their child out of sexual health instruction. If you would like to preview the curriculum materials, you may access the videos and lesson slides at the links below.
After viewing the materials, if you want to opt your child out of receiving comprehensive sexual health instruction, you can do so by filling out the electronic form in Parent Square. The form to opt out your child must be completed and submitted by October 24, 2025. If you would like to opt out your child after this date, please contact your child’s school to submit a paper opt out form.
If you have questions, please contact Curriculum & Instruction.
If you need interpretation of the videos or lessons, please contact Language Help.
