MAJOR PROJECTS 
Many of the district's oldest schools were built for a different era and no longer meet the needs of today's students. Replacing these aging schools provides safe, secure, and accessible learning environments designed for modern teaching while reducing the risk of costly repairs and unexpected building failures.

School Replacement Projects: Continue the district's long-term school replacement plan by completing the replacement of Mukilteo Elementary School and Explorer Middle School, advancing the replacement of Serene Lake Elementary School, and beginning the replacement of Olivia Park Elementary School. These projects replace decades old schools with safe, modern learning environments designed to support today's students while helping manage facility needs and costs over time.

Remove Portable Classrooms: Replace 20 aging portable classrooms at Mukilteo elementary and Explorer middle schools with permanent classrooms that improve safety, security, comfort, and access to modern educational resources.

Expanding Career and Technical Education: Expand Career and Technical Education (CTE) learning spaces at Explorer Middle School to provide students with hands-on experiences connected to high-demand careers and skilled trades.  

Physical Education Learning Space Expansion: Expand Kamiak High School gymnasium to support physical education, athletics, student wellness, and school events while reducing and overcrowding. Improvements include ADA-accessible features, more inclusive spaces for students and community members, and flexible facilities for recreation, performances, assemblies, and community use.
